Choices: we make them all day long. We make choices through deliberate decision ("No, God"), through passive postponement ("I'll say yes tomorrow," which is really a choice to say "no" today), and through the deception of denial ("This isn't really an issue for me.")

However, regardless of how they are made, every choice is a seed. And in the realm of the heart, every seed--for better or for worse--takes root. So the question before us is this: how is your garden growing?

Life is not tidy, is it Pain co-exists with joy. Opportunity dances beside injustice. Shameless waste lives within mocking distance of abject poverty. Real Life is really complex. Yet, we often say that the gospel--the good news about God--is simple (as though simple were a synonym for accessible).

Is the gospel simple Perhaps. But God Himself never has been, and never will be, simplistic. He neither dilutes discrepancy or ignores complexity. And I really like that about God.
