This vulnerable question is one that Barry and Alicia have been humbled to hear from hundreds of hungry souls.
For almost 40 years, the Choles have treasured God’s calling on their lives of intentionally investing in leaders’ spiritual growth.
Through the formation of Leadership Investment Intensives (501c3 devoted to providing soul care to leaders in the marketplace and church) they have the joy of crafting experiences devoted to empowering leaders toward the development of soul health and sustainable intimacy with God.
Mentoring with Alicia
As a spiritual mentor, Dr. Alicia Britt Chole is known for her discernment and penetrating questions. One seasoned statesman described her as having, “the head of a lawyer and the heart of a poet.”
When Jesus interrupted her atheistic existence, He immediately sent Alicia mentors. Now, one of her great joys is being a spiritual mentor to leaders around the world who long for a confidential place to attend to the interior.
Alicia now offers two versions of her 12-month mentoring experience. The7thYearOriginal at $377/month and The7thyearEssentials at $119.99/month.

2025 the7thyearOriginal
Includes:
- TWELVE 50 min. one-on-one spiritual direction/mentoring sessions (one/month)
- EIGHTEEN 50 min. small group teachings (three at each retreat, and once a month in between)
- FIVE of Alicia’s books
- TWO optional two-night retreats with Alicia at Rivendell
- Coaching session on spiritual formation implications of MBTI with Dr. Brunner
- A supportive cohort of women in leadership that connect at retreats and via a private group and prayer app.

One-Time Administrative Fee: $377 (non-refundable)
- Due after an applicant is accepted into the7thyear to hold the spot and to cover administrative support for the participant’s year-long experience.
- If you change your mind about participating before the7thyear begins, the administrative fee will be converted to a tax-deductible donation to Lii and a receipt will be issued.
Monthly Fee: $377
Additional Fees: 10 of 15 reading list resources, travel to/from optional retreats, community meals at retreats, and 3% Paypal processing fee if you opt to pay your admin and/or participant fee via Paypal..
Scholarships: Available as funds permit for up to 50% of the monthly participation fee.

Mentoring with Barry
Barry holds a DMin in leadership, is a certified spiritual director, and has been providing formal spiritual mentoring and direction since 1985.
Everything he touches grows. His belief in people is transformational. One leader summed up Barry’s influence by saying, “Others taught me to run. Barry taught me how to walk.”
Currently, Barry is offering private spiritual direction (sign up for as many or as few sessions as you like) and a 12-month group experience called The7thYear.
2024 the7thyear
Registration Fee: $357
Monthly Fee: $357
Includes:
- ONE 60 min. monthly one-on-one spiritual direction/mentoring session
- ONE 75 min. monthly small group teaching (4-6 participants)
- Five of Alicia’s books
- During the Men’s the7thyear, participants will have the opportunity to register for a men’s prayer retreat led by Barry at the Chole’s prayer retreat home in Branson, MO (www.rrbranson.com)
